Back Strap Removal
& Preparation Tool
Preparation time of welder qualification test specimens can be greatly reduced by the use of Triangle's revolutionary new Backstrap Removal Tool.
Greatly reduces costs by eliminating offhand grinders, grinding wheels and fixtures, air or electrical consumption and large work areas normally used.
Versatility and ease of operation were two of the prime considerations in the designing of this equipment. Its single holding fixture will receive the complete range of test straps, i.e. face and root bends, side bends and subsize specimens.
Optimum operator safety & efficiency. Grinding barricades are eliminated completely with the incorporation of safety deflectors used to discharge grinding waste (sparks) to a built-in receptacle (or to an area outside of the working area), thus minimizing the concern for personal injury.
The highly functional design of this unit provides a more rapid, uniform, and high quality surface preparation of face, root and side bend test specimens prior to bending- resulting in a quality superior to that previously possible.
Bulky auxiliary equipment (vises, air supplies, etc.) and large working spaces are also eliminated, due to the efficient compact design.
It will indeed eliminate the inconsistent and often detrimental results that are experienced with the use of present day "hand held tools".
